The CEO was the captain of the ship that ran aground. Spending $52,000 per employee in one year on parties and conferences means the CEO was not prudent of expenses, nor was he a good steward of company values.

True statement.....not much can be done when the problem starts at the top

The Wounded Warrior program went wrong when their Board of Directors decided to hire a Senior executive staff that was trained and experienced in "Nonprofit" Management", who immediately hired a "Professional" fundraising company. Both are highly trained and experienced at sucking off donations for pay, bonuses, greater than first class travel, limousines, etc. Personally, I stopped donating to them when they started sending me WWP coins, WWP towels, WWP Flags, etc. All junk made in China out of my donations that were supposed to go to veterans and their families in need.

Great post.....another thing I cant stand.....Patriotic stuff made in China.....hell I was looking at "pride" hat in clothing sales and it was made in Afghanistan.....really!!!!!...anyway I agree you think that they would at least have the "swag" made by lighthouse for the blind or some veteran owed business.....i'm sure there are plenty out there who would be happy to take their business.

Wounded Warriors was a scam from the get go. There was an opportunity to make a ton of money quickly and with every little investment. It was the TV evangelist scam for the non-religious.

Scam for the non-believers....interesting take.....can't argue with you as I agree that some of these charities are designed more to make the "giver" feel good about themselves rather than actually get a lot of help to the intended target. It's kinda like Girl Scout Cookies...buying them makes you think you are helping the local troop but in reality they are just being pimped out and they only get like 25% of the money from their sales.....but i digress....anyway I agree with you the thing I was always skeptical of wound warriors for was that they only seem to help the vets that make for good TV/NEWs stories ......again that's why i say stay local with your money it's less diluted when it reaches it's intended target.
