People are able to get tens of thousands of free audiobooks and e-books downloadable to their devices.

Almost every library in the country uses Overdrive* to deliver electronic content (audiobooks, digital books, etc) to your device. All you need to do is download the application, set-up a free account and add your library account (card#, etc) to it.

When I was doing my daily haul up to Ft. Meade (live near Ft. Belvoir, so that's a 70 minute drive around the DC Beltway at 0500 ... 2+ hours during rush hour), I listened to many audiobooks and went though a few a week on average. I had a library card from the Fairfax County Library system (one of the largest in the country) and the Army MWR library - I could generally get any audio book I wanted without a wait.
