Are you an active member in your regimental association?

There are many benefits from being actively involved in your regimental association, from receiving information/briefs from the senior most members of your regiment and opportunities to be members of the executive committee which can be transferred to your NCOER/OER. QUESTIONS:  Are you actively involved?  Why or why not? Do you encourage your subordinates to be active members?  Why or why not? If you're an active member, do you believe regimental associations are relevant?  Why or why not?

I'm a lifetime member of the Ordnance Corps Assoctiation, and I work directly for my proponent office (I work Quality Assurance for CASCOM, with an emphasis on Ordnance courses, which is basically Training Institution.schools assesment and accreditation, Courseware analysis and improvement, instructor assesment, training, and improvement, Reserve/National Guard assesment/Accreditation/ assistance, and general problem solver for training institutions). It's been an interesting assignment. Up until this point, my Regiment existed in theory, it was just a pin that had to go on my uniform.

It's been great getting to see it as an actual organization/institution, and meeting and working with the key members, and being able to effect changes that will affect generations of future Ordnance Soldiers.

I'm going to be a bit bummed in July when I PCS. It's been a very rewarding few years..

I am not able to get a hold of or even find the regimental association for my former unit (12th Infantry Regiment) nor do I have any information for AMEDD. Where would I be able to look for this info as internet searches provide nothing and the unit has no clue what a 'unit historian' actually is?

Yes. I have a Life Membership in 28th U.S. Infantry Association. In 2012, I was honored as a Distinguished Member of the 28th Infantry Regiment. While on active duty, I served in 1st Battle Group & (following ROAD reorganization) 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry of 1st Infantry Division. My Distinguished Member appointment was a result of several history articles I wrote/published.

I am a lifetime member of the Military Police Regimental Association. I was a member at large and was unable to attend meetings until recently when I found that a chapter opened in my area. This chapter is a great group that in the short time they have been around has already raised money for injured soldiers and will soon be hosting a military ball.
