Here is a list of 7 (seven) traits that will ultimately let you know if you are annoying those around you or if you are not. I would actually take this advice if any of it pertained to me. I kinda like to think that I am not, but I know I annoy those who annoy people around them. LOL!!

Interesting list for sure....although they don't apply mostly I know a few fit once in awhile. The competition one probably fits a great deal of us that have chose to serve whether we want to admit it or not.

OMG, my last job I had this ultra sensitive nut job working in the cube next to me. Apparently I lightly drum my fingers when the radio is playing and this pissed him off to the point where I was called in to HR. This guy complained that it wasn't so much the noise but the vibration from my "finger drumming" that drove him crazy. Mind you I'm doing this subconsciously so I'm barely aware of it yet this guy played it up like I was out to get him and being inconsiderate of his needs for a vibration-less work environment.

Well crap - I enjoy annoying the hell out of folks but I'm not doing anything on this list. Ask my kids. Thanks for the tips - I'll have to try them all. LOL

My problem is that I talk too much. I have to constantly prepare myself to listen. I am used to being in charge and running the converation and that bleeds over into my personal life.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I too am competitive, but never at the cost of the team. I have always tried to be "the quiet professional" and let my actions speak for me; deeds not words.
Over career/life my I have learned that being a difficult person, bad teammate, know it all, bad listener, and the list goes on, is never good for the team or you. Being friendly, professional, and nice gets you much farther than being confrontational, directing, and demanding. Sugar vs. Spice. It is all about influence, and how you do it, and how you want your climate at work.

I find myself being annoyed by a lot of people lately. I don't know if it's because I am away from my children and boyfriend or if I am getting old. I find myself seeking any bit of alone time I can. Anything to to get away from everyone else. After being in 10 years and being around so many new people, I can't stand how things have changed. I try not to show others I don't want to be around them, so I can still looks approachable to my junior Sailors. This position really is affecting me lol

I can be because I ask questions while looking to understand a situation to develop some type of course of action. Many people would rather complain and blame. When I don't join in after a minute, many just don't want to be bothered with me at the time.
