Appreciate the warning. cyber security always a concern, and the potential for social engineers must be taken seriously. That being said, the site is filled with constant professionals. If are in danger of providing too much info, someone WILL tell you. The military does a good job of policing its own.

You must implement FORWARD SECRECY in order to improve the security and privacyof RP. FS will (in the best case scenario) MAKE IT IMPOSOIBLE TO EAVESDROP ON DATA BEING TRNS FROM OUR BROWSER TO RP servers. And please enable Strict Transport Security.

Your warning is appreciated, but there is nothing here that should cause harm or that can't be accessed in other internet locations. I've been a member for quite some time, and I've never seen anything posted higher than U//FOUO. I've honestly not even seen any PII. As all the others have mentioned thus far, we are not putting anything on the site that would harm us or anyone else.

The example I always is with Lawrence Livermore National Labs (nuclear research), near where I went to school. When I was there, you could get arrested for even bringing a camera to near its fence line. Now you can view the entire facility in one meter color resolution in Google Maps. The world has changed. Information brings power... and while certainly there will be those who try to abuse or exploit it, the positive benefit it brings to everybody in the world far outweighs it.

We can't live like technology is not advancing human cause. When the radio came out, I'm sure there were those who feared its military use because it can be intercepted. We have to embrace technology and harness its power in a responsible way. That is what we strive for at RallyPoint, and to the benefit of all military members and veterans.

If one is not comfortable with certain information being potentially known, please don't post it.

In this day and age when there are so many reports of cyberattacks and privacy breeches just how safe are your discussions on sites such as RP or other military sites? Sure there are privacy settings that can be adjusted but that is in and of itself no assurance of privacy or security. For instance, did you know that despite adjusting your settings to only allow verified members to contact you, that the content of your discussions here are RP...

The information I provide is readily available from the regulations, which can be viewed from the APD website or any standard search engine. You bring up a topic that is important but I also believe that cyber OPSEC is being pretty well hammered into our heads.

With a few things that I have come across in my job...I have cleared my profile of any specific information. There are people actively seeking sources of information with the sole purpose of targeting Military members. I would be careful about what information you put ANYWHERE....not just on here. Linked-in is already largely a no-go for me and that list may grow
