Came on orders to Italy. Moved my dependents back to Maryland and took off to Europe and got me a barracks room. When I was in-processing here finance said that the Gov't only pays for one move-mine, which was only an unaccompanied baggage, mostly pro gear. IS this true?
By the way, We PCS'd from Maryland to California and got paid DLA in 2018. Are you entitled to DLA when you move your dependents within CONUS, while PCSing overseas? 2019-04-01T13:29:42-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4504343

I was in school for 14 months (language school) and my dependents were living with me the whole time in California. Also, make sure your orders read you’re going to assist with the relocation of your dependents with a designated area identified. You get DLA when you PCS.
Reading what you've responded to others, nothing was worded wrong in your orders, you failed to apply for command sponsorship of your dependents. Failed to, or elected to leave them.
It sounds exactly like you elected the unaccompanied tour.
If you chose the unaccompanied tour, you can reach back to your old MPD, change to an accompanied tour, have your family get their EFMP screening and apply for command sponsorship.
If you chose the unaccompanied tour, you'll have to have them get their EFMP screening and apply for command sponsorship from your location. You'll be extended to an accompanied tour and your family can fly out to you.
