The Military Tuition assistance was well worthwhile, I put on two years of college while on active duty taking three courses at a time. I left the Air Force in 1974 and became a full time student and received My BS degree in 1976. I did receive VA educational assistance still worked part time during school but full time on vacations from school. I stayed active in the Civil Air Patrol. sports in college, assisted the Athletic Director with setting up a new Cross Country team schedule with other schools, served as the Co Captain of the team. the yearbook staff as a Senior, wrote sports articles for the college newspaper. participated all the campus activities i could. I lived in the dorm on campus and the school was great to the Veterans which We had a few including even our Class President who served on submarines in the US Navy. Later in 1981 I again started wearing Air Force blue after an 8 year break in service that followed 8 years active duty and continued until I retired from the USAF.
