All jokes aside, yes I am indeed glad to have served a full term. I feel that it has changed me as a person and made me who I am today. It has contributed to many of my beliefs as well.

Glad isn't the word I would use to describe it. I don't regret it but saying I am glad would be going too far lol.

The military, and combat service, prepares you for practically anything you're likely to encounter post military, so I'm both glad ... and proud!

While I can't say I'm happy doing what I currently do in the military, I'm very glad I joined. I can hold a sense of pride in myself for what I've accomplished thus far, like making E-4 on my first shot. I just hope to be rid of the desk before too long.

I don't think "glad" begins to describe it. Wasn't glad to be drafted during Viet Nam, as I was accepted to Cornell University for biology/pre-med, and lost my deferment. Made the best of it, and I was "rewarded". Very fortunate to have graduated OCS at 19, and further fortunate to get stationed in Germany. Good and bad about being there during that Cold War. But mostly very good. Made friends (military and civilian) that I'd never have otherwise met, went places all over Europe I'd likely not seen without actually living there, and was introduced to the USAA insurance company that remains my insurer to this day. Reconnected with many of the guys I served with over the years and am now meeting even more that have been stationed where I was. Some days I look back and ask myself why the heck I left when I did....honestly. Have mostly wonderful memories from 50 years ago !

Absolutely. There have been ups, there have been downs, but overall my service has been a defining part of my life. I would be a radically different person without my time in the Army.

Yes, I am glad I served. 38 years and in the long haul it made me a better person, for God, family and country. I am proud to be an American.

I have been in the Army 18+ years, and i love every minute of it. I have the opportunity to touch so many lives and help other as much as i can, which makes it even better. I continue to learn so much everyday, thanks to the jobs i have held. I have gained extended family members that share unique life experiences that only a few can talk about. I could go on and on....but yeah...i love my career choice and what its stands for.

Absolutely! I've gotten to travel halfway around the world, I've gotten to meet and serve with people from all over the US, take care of my family, and best of all, be part of a team that gives the US taxpayer the best service for the buck.
