Are you guys tired of movies about Vets with PTSD or Depression or would you still be interested in watching them?

I'm a movie maker and am trying to get a finger on the pulse of the military and veteran community regarding films depicting or about soldiers suffering from depression or PTSD. This includes movies like American Sniper to documentaries like That which I Love Destroys Me.

SPC Michael King it is real life. We have people who have PTSD. It is nothing to be ashamed of and by showing it in the movies (if done accurately) it creates awareness and it may encourage those who have it to seek help. If depicted wrongly it will do the opposite. It will make everyone feel that someone with PTSD has an illness that will cause them to just snap and start killing people or that it is a weakness. So if you are going to do it do it right or don't do it at all.

I believe that there already exists a feeling in this nation that all vets are just powder kegs waiting to blow; it's already difficult to find employment because employers think vets are going to snap & start picking people off from the roof (which irks the crap out of me since most of the loony tunes doing that had never even seen boots!)... So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, while movies about vets with PTSD may be informative & may have good intentions, the public doesn't embrace these movies in the way they may have been intended; I think these movies just compound the public's already (mis)conceived notions of the veteran. It's an unfortunate thing & it pains me that rather than showing our vets understanding, John Q. Public shows disdain, fear and apathy. Movies unfortunately exacerbate those feelings
