I knew I wasn't at risk of making Flag, especially when I pushed back hard on some of them when they'd get these great ideas for my Command to do things in the badlands without force protection. It's easy to sit in a chair 8000 miles away and point. The big thing I had to come to grips with is how much it took out of me both physically and mentally. Got beat up. Then you get beat up again with clueless VA people and processes. So I had to spend time and effort to recover happy anything and everything. Glad I did. So the military time has passed, done, stick a fork in it, and move on. So if you're not happy post military, it's likely you haven't moved on. Taking my first cruise to the Caribbean next month on something that isn't grey with my bride of 40 years. Long way from the Navy now although the High School plays Anchors Aweigh as their fight song.... get it out of my mind! Brings back some of the crude lyrics we made up off 'Nam that we'd mix in with refrains of "Barnacle Bill The Sailor" Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Feb 1 at 2016 12:26 AM 2016-02-01T00:26:57-05:00 2016-02-01T00:26:57-05:00 PO1 William "Chip" Nagel 1272313 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Could be Better, Could be Worse.
