Are you in the Guard waiting for a bonus payment, or waiting to extend for a bonus?

The Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS) has been down since 25 October due to server issues. The current time frame for GIMS to be restored is now the end of January, however, this time frame is just an estimate and may change as we get closer. The State Incentive Offices cannot look up any issues at this moment. Thus, they are unable to give updates pertaining to the status of any payments, terminations, ETPs, etc. As it stands, per NGB (attached memo) they cannot submit manual payments until GIMS is fully restored. The State Incentives Office is still processing incentive requests via manual addendum requests. If you have a SM that is wanting to extend for an incentive please contact your BN/BDE Retention NCO for assistance.

UPDATE:
GIMS came back online last week. Bear in mind that they are now 4.5 months behind on processing those tens of thousands of bonuses that were pending, so do not expect immediate results today.

Yikes, I'd hate to be working on those systems. Makes me wonder what the heck happened. For the SMs who were all wondering about their bonuses, well, they just found out why. And this is going to take quite a long while to resolve. Thanks for posting the info, I hope all who have been affected see this.

SGM, thank you for posting this letter and question. I've been searching for any sort of discussion on the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) in a public forum for over a year now. Aside from a short discussion I found on Reddit from well over a year ago, I'm glad I finally stumbled upon this post.

Payments to my loan servicer are supposed to take place yearly. My paperwork has been submitted every year to be entered into GIMS by my unit's Readiness NCO. Not one payment has yet been made. I've been serving in the National Guard for close to four years now. I've interacted with or written to my battalion's S1, to my elected state representatives, to the handling education counselor and anyone else in between who could provide answers for the delays over the past 16 months. Frustration over the delays is an understatement, as other SM's can attest to.

I work for an IT company and this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! My son finished basic and AIT back in mid December and is still waiting! Can't get a job because he doesn't have a car, can't get a car because he doesn't have a job. Is this system up and running for sure and how much longer should he expect to wait? Any help/advice would be appreciated. His paperwork was submitted the weekend he got home from Basic/AIT. Does he need to resubmit??

Anyone else unit giving them the run around still? I was told the system is still down knowing what I’ve been seeing here it’s definitely up just a little frustrating when you’re told different things from different people

Any updates? My unit never has a definite answer to whats going on with the bonuses. My Readiness NCO says he has no way of finding out information on my bonus and no one seems to be able to help me out. Is there anyone I can call to figure this out myself?

Any updates? My readiness NCO claims he doesn't have access to any further information regarding my bonus. Is there anyone I can call myself to get an update on my status? Haven't been able to get any help on this and have been due mine for a while.

Has anyone successfully received their bonus? I re-enlisted aug of last year and it’s almost been a year since I haven’t received it. My unit NCO informed me back in April that it was at NGB level and I’m not sure what that means or how long it would take from there

So I left for OSUT just a few days prior to the system failing, and graduated in February and still no word on how long this is going to take. Per Squad leader (also waiting on bonus) coming from our RNCO.

What I got from the comments is that DOD regulations gives them 6 mo to process and then they have to put in a manual packet? August 15th is 6 mo for me so Im going to see if they'' work on my packet during drill next week

Myself Feb 2019 due SLRP, nothing still. Another NCO in my unit, bonus around a month earlier for reup, still nothing. Nov 1 2019 currently.
