Has anyone heard of using Manuka Honey? There is a valley in New Zealand that has a special tree that these bees make honey from. There are numerous grades of it (plus it is THE BEST tasting honey) For centuries healers have used this as an antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory for open wounds and now more and more hospitals have recognized it as well and are using it especially burn patients. The down side, it is extremely expensive, the higher the MGO index number the more you have to pay, like in the hundreds of US dollars.
I also love it in other regards when I needed assistance from my ex........, after a shower I would lather it on and call to her, " Oh, Sweetheart Gumby and Pokey needs some of your special attention!" (I had been badly injured in the sweet spot by a runaway industrial spring that broke off and went airborne!) Trust me, they swelled up like grape fruits and was laid up for nearly 2 months. I still required some surgery, but sadly one of those bad boys no longer functioned. I was nicknamed the Uni-baller after that, but somewhere over the years it some how healed and had my first and only child at age 50. I have had full custody of her since she was a baby and raised her all on my own. She is about to Graduate High School. As I said, Manuka Honey taste great as well as antiseptic.
