I'd like to know if anyone else out there has completely exhausted their Post 9/11 GI Bill. I used the last of mine on a course I am taking right now.
My goal is educating myself, not necessarily a degree. Any ideas out there on how to continue my studies without coming out of pocket I am all ears.

Go to the http://www.va.gov website or call [login to see] for information on all VA educational benefits. Vocational Rehabilitation helped me realize my dream of a college education by identifying me as a veteran seeking a degree and matching me with an appropriate career.

You better believe it. I will have attended school while on TA to the max earning an Associates of Art degree in a year. 33 semester hours of effort that year with a strong GPA. That wiped out all my general studies requirements for my BS of Science with a concentration in History. That set me up for a transition after retirement and sent me to a trade school where I learned everything I needed to know on motorcycle repair. I feel far more confident on my own now. I had enough benefits left over I will come within 9 semesters hours of my BS degree before benefits run out. I will however set the Monthly Housing allowance aside since I can pay my own bills without that and use that as a springboard to pay for the last three courses with very little coming out of my pocket for my degree. It takes planning, and serious discipline, but you really can max that benefit out and leave nothing of what you earned in government coffers

No I never did. I thought I had my whole life to use the GI Bill and found out later that you better enroll immediately as the offer expired for this Guardsman!

Tuition Assistance is one of the most underutilized benefits of military service across the board.

I push that knowledge and encouragement on any and every soldier I come across.
