Are you wearing the new OCP yet?

Well...are you? If you are...and it is the complete uniform...you have spent $46.72 for the top, $46.07 for the pants, at least $100.00 for boots, $12.00 for the hat, $4.00 for a basic belt, $12.00 for t-shirts, and about $25.00 for new patches, for a grand total of around the $245.00 mark. If you have a set...do you like them? If you don't...are you looking forward to getting them?

Do we/you have a choice? This is what the Army has decided. Many places don't have them yet, as the roll-out was not Army-wide. LTC(P) Private RallyPoint Member . The major operational installations got them 1st. TRADOC, I am told will start issuing them as basic issue for BCT/OSUT in Nov. That is likely when we have plenty on the racks.

From what I know...Soldiers in Afghanistan are wearing Multicam whereas the new uniform is referred to as OCP developed as Scorpion W2.

If I could, I would. However, I bought the new OCP ACUs in what was my regular size in the UCP ACUs. The only problem is....they're way too baggy for me and the sleeves reach down to the first knuckle on my fingers. I'd exchange for a smaller size, but they don't have the XS size at Hood. Guess I should eat my Wheaties and start growing!!

I plan on ordering my uniforms through the clothing sales up here close to TACOM in Detroit. I know they won't hit their shelves until the last wave because of the type of unit we are. I could ask a Battle Buddy of mine from another installation to pick up a few sets, so that might be an option too.

I am sporting the multicam flight suits, but am yet to make the OCP investment. I am extremely excited about the uniform but not the investment it requires.

I am on of the few that is deployed with FRACU. I really don't have many good sets of ACU at the house. But being in the Guard if I get a set I will most likely be the only guy in my whole unit that has a set. I will most likely pick up a set. But I have yet to find my unit patch in Multicam unit.

I haven't purchased mine yet but when my clothing allowance hits in November I will pick up a set and a set of the new PTs. I have encouraged my Soldiers to do the same, to purchase the new uniforms in increments (which is in line with the SMA's comments). I'm looking forward to most of the changes in the new OCP.

I just pulled my multicams from Afghanistan out of the trunks. Good to go till 2019. Can't see buying something new when the multis are authorized and look basically the same.

I am wearing the old multicams I will get the new OCP when my multicams are worn out I only have one good set of ACU's left and I will still be using them until they are worn out. I was holding off on getting new ACU's for the transition and I am going to change to the new uniform as my old uniforms wear out.

No, I will not be purchasing them until my Soldiers are issued them. Being we are a Reserve Unit, we are not priority. Additionally, Officers and Senior Enlisted members are not issued the uniforms. Besides, it makes no sense to have two or three types of uniforms roaming around in formation. It looks ridiculous, and any Commander who wants to instill uniformity and consistency would be wise to wait.

I will probably purchase sometime early in the new FY, once there is a fair portion of the force at JBLM wearing them. I haven't seen a lot of people wearing the new uniforms yet (though a huge line at clothing sales, so I expect we will see it soon). I have seen a lot of the old, well used OCP uniforms get pulled out of closets though.

I honestly couldn't care one way or the other. I'll wear what the Army wants me to. There are some nice features on the new uniforms, but I still have some life in the ones I have.

When I move, I'll move all at once. I don't like wearing mis-matched uniform items (even though authorized), and I don't want to have to keep track of two patterns worth of accessories.

I'll get the new PTs first, though.

I was the first in my Battalion to purchase and wear them. Turns out, our BN Command team says they will put out a date when they want "everyone" to wear it.
They wont say we are not authorized to wear it, but I keep hearing that "I dont want to go against the BN Commander."
