Holy Hell! Did you low crawl the whole way, you slimy f*cking walrus-looking piece of sh-t? Does that qualify you to remain in the Army as a jelly donut-eating x-ray technician? I don't know if you can be a clerk typist running that slow. Sweet Jesus! I'm 46, retired, and haven't run anything but my mouth in 4 years, and I can move faster than that! Have you considered the Air Force? You're clearly not cut out for the Military!!!

(did I do a good Gunnery Sergeant Hartman?)

Seriously, if you run 11+ minute miles, the Army isn't for you, I don't think a reclass is the answer. Your leadership can keep you off the 'lawn and garden detail' and make sure you have time to PT twice a day. Many other MOS have the same job in garrison as we do in wartime and they takes away. Infantry does not have a mission like that in garrison. Do you honestly think that they are going to let you train for a new MOS with new IET Soldiers when you can not pass the ABC standard? It would be a return to the previous station, and likely a one-way ticket to a new career.
I suggest that you either plan your next career or exit the Army Food For Freedom Program. If your S3/Training section is a good one you should be able to take another one next month or so, and you can definitely get a passable run time by that point. But let's say that's not the case...

Get with a battle buddy (peer, fire team leader, squad leader, etc.) regarding establishing a plan to increase your run time, and make that plan happen. I'd also throw in some agility training because I'm no triathlete, and even I have a better Sprint Drag Carry time than that (by almost thirty seconds). But I digress. The failed event is the 2-mile run. The Army understands, as do I, that shit happens every now and then to everyone at some point. What leaders pay attention to, however, is how you pick yourself back up. If you take visible action to get better: that will be noticed by your leadership, and that can really help justify the case for taking another AFT sooner vs waiting another six months or so. First off, failing a physical fitness test in the military should never happen unless you are carrying another person or your own legs in your hands.

I know the Army has been struggling with people wanting to be good worker bees and not leaders but DANG, but when the first option is reclassified instead of putting your head down and grinding is where you lost me. How can you lead when you cannot lead yourself. Not trying to bad mouth you but maybe this is not the life for you. This has nothing really to do with your slow run time, it has more to do with you not being a self starter or a, when the times get tough, you come up swinging kind of a guy. Take step back and ask yourself, are you committed to work hard at making yourself a better version of yourself and the organization or just going through the motions. I would challenge you to work hard at what you do not do well at, one step at a time but with a committed grind mentality. Get some! This is the ONE military action that cannot be blamed on your chain of command, your battle buddies, etc... This is solely yours to own up too. Now, why would you even put this question out here if you didn't expect negative comments in return? Short answer. No. You have a second opportunity to pass the event before major things begin to happen. I don't recall one soldier in my 33 years of service that was removed from the military due to failing the P.T. test. I saw many repeating the test and being flagged and deemed non-promotable. I've never seen anyone flat out kicked out or reclassed. This is a new policy of course. Link up with a battle buddy that made standards and do what he/she did to get yourself across the finish line. You've got this, don't let it get you down.
