If I am prior service Army looking to go to the Navy Reserve, can I wear US Army awards and badges on the Navy working or dress uniforms?

If I am prior service Army looking to go to the Navy Reserve, can I wear US Army awards and badges (ie CAB, Expert Soldier, Air Assault, etc.) on the Navy working or dress uniforms?

Refer to the Navy's uniform regulation (NAVPERS 15665J)* for detailed answers.

For awards, the answer is generally yes, but for most badges/tabs/etc., other than marksmanship badges, the answer will be no.

Most U.S. military awards (ribbons or medals) can be worn when transferring from one branch to another, badges not necessarily the case. COL Randall C. has given you the best place to look and find out what is authorized.

I remember during Vietnam Boot Camp we had a prior Navy NCO join the Army. He was HIGHLY decorated and I remember the Drill Sergeants going crazy when he showed up for graduation and had all his ribbons and medals on --demanding his orders for each - which he had. We were soooo proud of him!!! But Army did not like some of hs Navy ribbons, as I recall. I lost track of him after Boot camp as I went to Ft Sam Medic training and he went elsewhere. He was EXEMPLARY soldier and human being - we were ALL better off for knowing him and learning fromhim.
