What are the differences between Army CID 31D Special Agent and Army civilian CID Special Agent?

Good evening, I recently applied for an Army CID Special Agent Position on the Army CID website and while doing some research, I also noticed that there is also an MOS 31D Army CID Special Agent Criminal Investigator which prompted me to ask the question is there any difference considering I'm already in the army national guard can't I just reclass and if I do can I do both.

I don’t believe it’s as simple as doing a reclass. They only take the best of the best through the application process from the military police community. I have also heard rumors that the Department of Army may reorganize CID more like the NCIS model or possibly transfer it to civilian control instead of the Provost Marshal.

As I understand it, 31D's are enlisted CID Agents as opposed to Warrant Officers CID Agents. All are addresses as, "Mr," or "Miss" however though perhaps noting today's woke Army. A good fiend I served with is a retired CID/MSG Agent. Another buddy left for CID as a SP4 (aka SPC today) & was commissioned as a WO1 & retired as a WO4. The first buddy could not get a WO commission because as an MP, he'd gotten an Art 15

31D is a communication MOS not CID?
