Army Earth Day ... Do you care?

Is this day important to you? I'm kind of neutral about Earth Day, but I remember very fondly a tree planting event we had in our housing area at Fort Meade back in the late 80s. That was a fun experience for our entire family, so it's not totally unimportant to me.

We should take care of the world like we take care of our house hold. We do not crap where we eat.

However, the Bible states that this world is reserved for fire (I think the verse is in Revelation). My point is is that this world will eventually burn out regardless of how much we try to reduce our carbon footprint. Nothing lasts forever.

In the Military, whenever we do anything, afterwards we have to "police up" the area.
It's not hard to clean up our own messes. It's not hard to take measures to make our area cleaner. It's not hard to shut off the light when you leave the office. Doing the right thing, ends up helping both the Earth and the Military. Besides, if it goes away what will we defend?
