Option A) Scorpion was developed by the Army in conjunction with Crye Precision years ago. Meaning this pattern was available before Multicam. Crye just took the pattern, made a few minor changes, and patented it. How did we end up with UCP? Option B) It seems to me that at least a decent portion of the non-trainee segment of the services have Multicam. It's already easily available. Crye worked with the Army to be able to provide uniforms and gear with 1% the cost of UCP.
