Sounds like a great idea to me, SGT Jim Z.. Customizable grenades allow for bigger bang when needed and smaller when you don't need as much.

Then, though, the question will be ... How many base grenades to carry? And how many "extensions." Still, it seems like a good idea to me.

With the improvements to high explosives this sounds like a great replacement for banglore torpedo's type devices.

Well, if you need to "Foxtrot" something up I could see how this could put tools in the hands of non combat engineers to get the job done. If that does not do a 40 pound satchel charge and 55 Gal drum of fuel should work.

Sounds cool, but a little scary... I'm thinking back to basic when a few soldiers had a difficult time getting the device out far enough...

I watched a few new soldiers either not throw the grenade far enough or I watched them throw the pin and drop the grenade. I don’t think a bigger bang is needed.

Hell with the grenades, we just used a "Claymore" or a 40mike-mike. But if you don't like explosives, have the Sea Bees come in, they have Bulldozers.
