As a 68C about to start 41 weeks for AIT phase 2 at Walter Reed (WRNMMC): What are the barracks/living conditions like for IET enlisted?

Make sure you get your DD 1610 for your phase 1 of AIT before you leave your current duty station.

Expect crappy living arrangements and if you get better, nice. Out of all my Army schools, I have been in one that was nice and I have been commissioned for most of my 24years. What is important for you is library and internet access. I used to go to Starbucks to study and those are what is important.

Make sure to take some pictures. The memories can be outstanding. When I was in I had no camera and there were no cell phones. I amEnvious when I see some of the post from back then. I only have one picture of me. ( not including the book we got in basic).

Just graduated phase 2 there last August. They’re navy barracks & you will be roomed with another person. no private rooms.

You'll be at Naval Support Activity-Bethesda. You don't need a car, but one would be useful. There is no commissary on the installation and the nearest grocery store is a bit of a hike.
