<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm a prior service 13f, and almost out of the IRR. If I can secure an 18x slot when I'm finished with my degree and for whatever reason am a nonselect, am I more likely to go back to 13f since I am already MOS qualified, or be needs of the Army? Will my 13f MOS disappear after my IRR time?Sun, 01 Dec 2019 17:56:54 -0500As a prior-service 13F who is looking to go 18X, if I am a a non-select, will I go back to 13F?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You'll go to whatever the Army chooses. Since 13F are pretty under strength in the Army, that's a possibility. But you'll also start out in Infantry OSUT so you'll have that MOS. But the Army can choose to reclass you to a Cook or Laundry and Bath specialist if HRC decides that's the MOS they need.<br /><br />Better option is you skip the 18X BS enlistment, pick a job you're willing to fulfill on a contract, and go to SFAS when you finish AIT.SFC Private RallyPoint MemberSun, 01 Dec 2019 19:16:39 -05002019-12-01T19:16:39-05:00Response by CPL Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 3 at 2019 3:56 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Bud, I attempted the 18x as a college educated, lean mean fighting machine at 23. I made it 3 weeks into SF and failed miserably. If it’s what you wish to do go for it. But don’t be surprised if you fail. Your going straight to the line infantryCPL Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 03 Dec 2019 03:56:39 -05002019-12-03T03:56:39-05:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 3 at 2019 1:54 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The first part of the "Pipeline" is Infantry OSUT then Airborne School before heading to Bragg. If you make it that far and fail out at some point there are few options. I saw a few guys get offered RIP, EOD and Civil or PSYOPS. Most got sent to 82nd as 11B1Ps. I only saw one guy not do one of those options and he went to a new Air Cav unit that was started in "06.SGT Ja ThackerTue, 10 Dec 2019 18:45:22 -05002019-12-10T18:45:22-05:002019-12-01T17:56:54-05:00
