I&#39;m currently in college ROTC and looking to join the National Guard while in school. <br />I&#39;ve talked to a recruiter and have explained that i&#39;m no longer up to date on my NREMT. He said I wouldn&#39;t need to go back to AIT and that I&#39;d be retrained at my unit. I&#39;m just looking for insight on how that works, and if there&#39;s anything I should do ahead of time to prepare. Thank you. If it’s within 24 months you should be able to challenge the board. ( take the test and skills part). The information is on the NREMT site. If it’s outside of 24 months (mine was) you can take a local EMT course to Recertify or request to go back to AIT. Your unit can run your table 8. You just have to get the EMT squared away.
