As a Reservist switching over to AD, will the remainder of my required uniforms will be issued to me upon arrival to my unit?

I joined the Reserves last year and I switched over to AD. If you're not familiar with the issues plaguing Revervists, uniform issue is a nightmare. With that being said, while I have been in the reserves, I was only issued two sets of OCPs and two sets of PTs. Could I then expect that, upon arrival to my unit, the remainder of my required uniforms will be issued to me?

This is a good question, but the answer I have for you is no. In AD component, we rely on the annual clothing allowance to pay for these items.

Have you totally left the USAR? Why not beg them for more clothing? Years ago, the sons of a friend in the USAR wore combat boots thru their high school years. SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member Of course, ‘Jack was the 4 in a SF unit!

Unfortunately you'll have to buy them yourself.
You can try and get by on two sets and wait for your clothing allowance, or shell out the 19million it costs for another set.
That figure is slightly exaggerated, give or take a couple dollars.

When you are deployed, you can also order uniforms every month. I still have 3 pairs of fire retardant ACU pants and shirts from my OEF deployment in 2008. It is a 'use it or lose it' benefit. I was in the USAR then. I am sure active duty has that down-range benefit as well.

Unless things have changed, once you report to your unit, your CoC will send you to the Clothing & Sales for a new issue of uniforms. All on the Army’s dime. Again, unless it changed. Also, what happened with your issued uniforms from your initial entry training? You should have those available, or were you issued the former ACU?

If you never received your initial clothing bag issue, then you can bring this up at the MEPS to the counselor. They can provide you with a form that will allow you to go to the clothing and sales and draw an initial issue free of charge.

Yes but your supply NCO and commander will have to submit the forms online now to Clothing and Sales, fill out the DA7000 and the clothing inventory. Once completed the NCO will upload everything online and you will be allowed to go to Clothing and Sales to pick up your uniforms once they email the confirmation back to the unit. Simple process.

No, you will be required to bring your clothing bag up to regs. You can also expect to pay back any bonus you got to enlist in the reserves. Good luck with it. I went from reserves to active in the 1980's, stayed until 2003

When I transferred over I was able to get an additional 2 sets of OCPS. But that was it.

I was in the delayed entry program. I was also issued limited uniforms. When I went active duty, they issued me all new uniforms. That was back in 1993 though.

Issued PTs? Wow, things have changed so much since I got out in the mid 90's. In basic and ait, and at my NG unit PTs were our BDU trousers, brown T-shirt, and running shoes. Sure there was PT gear out there that could be purchased, but why spend money when it's provided?

It depends on several factors. Check with your gaining unit supply sergeant and have any prior uniform supply documentation with you if available.

AD rely on their annual clothing allowance, so if you need new uniforms you'll need to buy them.
