As a subordinate, how have you dealt with toxic leadership?

I know everyone has had superiors that they felt were just bad leaders. Once that relationship moves from bad to toxic, what steps have you taken. I just want to provide a resource for anyone that may be all out of options and techniques to handle or deal with this leadership style.
