Not sure where you are going with this, but here is my thoughts.

First, I don't take to the public streets to protest anything. I use the ultimate form of of protest. My vote.
Second, "not putting America first" is objective. I don't agree with most of what President Obama does, but he is doing what he believes is helping America. Is it? Only time will tell. No amount of marching will change that.
Third, I marched in the Army. I ain't marching anywhere ever again if I can help it.

SGT William Howell - It all depends... BLM takes to the streets and riots people notice and back down. I in no way shape or form support that. I know the good ol USA that we hear about never really existed. But things were better, even during bad times... how can we get back to the America that encouraged innovation, economic development, growth... ????

Your first point, your vote is not the ultimate protest. Simply voting in an election will not achieve the results needed to influence anything. To truly be of consiqunece you must really get involved. You must become a participant at your precinct ,distric county, and state level. Just voting on Election Day is not enough, to be of consiqunece you must become an activist. Marching is part of being an activist.
2nd point Putting America first , nothing you can say to make me believe Obama wants to put The USA first. He has a vision of some sort of Gloabal Utopian Vision where we have to be equal with all the other nations . Thus we must be weakened and no longer be a force for good. In Obams world view we our unjustified in the superpower status we held since WW2. He actions as president have demonstrated, be believes we ( the USA)need to be brought down to a lower status. I adamantly dissagree with OBama in this regard.
3rd I for one as a former NCO in the Army took pride every time I marched and would take pride on doing it again.

SFC Jerry Humphries I don't have to be active in anything. For most issues in the US I really don't give a shit about. The media makes us believe that we must take a stand on everything. We are bombarded with information and most of it is stuff that makes no difference in our lives. BLM has marched here in Cincinnati and my thoughts were, What are they protesting here? Nothing and I care nothing about liberal shitty St. Louis (other than their BBQ...Amazing!). I just say it in a vote. Then my congressman can deal with it, since that is what he is paid to do.

I believe that Obama thinks he is putting America first. He is not doing what i would do to make this country great, but you couldn't get me to run for President. I don't have the ego for it. Again, if you don't support the President's policies then you have to oppose him. Why? I don't want the job and not sure I would do any better if I had it.

While I agree with the sentiment...I cannot ignore the fact that "they" already know "we" are unhappy and seemingly couldn't care less.

The vote is always our number one asset as citizens...but the danger of representative government is that the majority can be easily swayed by the wrong issues resulting in candidates ill-chosen to represent the nation. I believe, moving forward, the best thing we can do is to from the lowest municipal to highest federal levels, promote individuals who are committed to grounded and consistent ideology, have the personal integrity to honestly represent their constituents, and the courage to take on well-entrenched systems of institutional plutocracy...all while remembering that a large number of the working American public values traditions as much as they do economic stability.

LCDR (Join to see) If they are not aware of 'our' dissatisfaction, they are finding out. Now the question is if they will learn from Trump's ascent!

CSM Hayden-My fear is the Mr. Trump is just saying what he has to in order to secure the Republican Party (mission accomplished)...then will shift tactics to win enough "moderates" to have a chance at beating Mrs. Clinton-or God save us, Mr. Sanders. In the end, even if it is enough, I suspect a great many of his supporters will be disappointed when "President Trump" either can't or won't deliver. If the RNC wants to be smart-they'll influence him to select a running mate with real staying power; someone like General Mattis...or (fingers crossed) Admiral Roughead.

LCDR (Join to see) Of course he will not be able to mandate all of his intentions, however Obama certainly mandated many of his 'pet' ideas.

My hope is that Trump will be able to sell and drive his programs by virtue of him not being obliged to donors and lobbyists!

People won't be able to agree on a definition of what it means to put America first. You'll get 10 different proposals if you ask 10 people.
