When I was in the marines I was living in the barracks and I have seen young marines do this. It never ended well.... But kinda funny still

Not quiet as funny as it is sad. The nice thing is, with the current state of marriage in our culture it would be easier and more cost effective for Marines to just marry their battle buddy.

While I know you asked that more as a rhetorical question, it is because we have place so little value on a cornerstone of our culture that there is little value in the institution.
We allow parents to divorce for no valid reason. I think a lot of problems can be traced back to this sad change in our culture.

I wish it could go back to how it was. It's just sad that it doesn't mean much to some people. There was a post on here about how the army is trying to stop marriages to strippers. This is just sad that there has to be rules so people don't act a fool.

Used to hear about contract marriages all the time when I was a young Marine. Girl got the ID card and the Marine got the BAH and separate rats. One gal got stopped at the Delmar E Club at Pendleton one night and the MPs found 6 IDs with her name and picture on them (different socials). She went to jail and the Marines went to Office Hours.
