Always have a way to stop the bleeding, just in case. Comms. A phone if I am local, a Sat Phone if I am not in cell range. After that, the usual. Don&#39;t forget to bring water!! I also bring a repair kit to do repairs and maintenance on whatever weapons I am bringing. Basic stuff. Targets, stands, empty sandbags in case it gets windy. 100 mph tape and extra staples for the staple gun. A good spotting scope can eliminate a lot of walking and a GoPro can fix a lot of bad habits. (though I was usually on the line trying to pull the heads out of bolo&#39;sr asses) (if it&#39;s just my officers I&#39;d bring a book to read(though later it was my tablet), if it was the whole unit all of my leaders E-4 and above had some kind of prepared hip pocket training) <br />Water, a couple of cold cokes in a cooler bag (don&#39;t smoke, chew or drink coffee, gotta get my caffeine somewhere - bring some comfort food to go with your humble pie on those occasions when it&#39;s forced upon you) <br />Sharpy&#39;s in 4-5 colors for target marking - when working with poor &quot;zeroers&quot;, this is essential. <br />Sun screen, bug spray, baby wipes. <br />I wear bifocals these days so I throw my single vision shooting glasses in. <br />Binos (8-10x power, I can check the whole line&#39;s zero targets standing at the ready line and call shots for poor Zeroers). <br />Socks, gloves and elbow knee pads depending on what we&#39;re shooting. <br />Always pack some patience.<br /><br />And most importantly, bring the FM, TM and appropriate tools for whatever you&#39;re firing and every time someone begins to &quot;wing it&quot; hand them a copy. Screwing up an m-16/M-4 or a M-9 can get someone hurt, screwing up an M-2 or a Mk-19 can get someone killed. Not my normal Kindle, because that shit can get fouled up or broken in the field (as I learned the hard way when a SPC stepped on mine accidentally once), so a paperback is the way to go.<br /><br />And the Twizzlers, they are my reward for not breaking anyone's neck throughout the day.
