But i am curious if there are any other ASIST trained soldiers on here, and asking if there is any helpful information anybody could possibly have to help me through the course. I understand it is more than likely not a very difficult course, I'm just looking for pointers, tips, or anything really.ASIST Training ?2018-10-12T13:46:12-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member4040078

I have recently gotten slotted for ASIST training and I'm trying to do as much research on the course as I can.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don't need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.

Hands on. When I went through, it was a civilian attire training, and we did a lot of inter-personal interaction, because the final exercise requires you to be able to speak one on one with someone and be able to actually help them through a very dark place.
There isn't much you need to know other than it is a suicide prevention course that gives you the information you need to speak with any kind of person and do your best to keep them from taking their own life. Its a good quality course.Response by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 13 at 2018 5:16 PM2018-10-13T17:16:03-04:002018-10-13T17:16:03-04:002018-10-12T13:46:12-04:00
