ASIST Training ? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/asist-training <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have recently gotten slotted for ASIST training and I&#39;m trying to do as much research on the course as I can. But i am curious if there are any other ASIST trained soldiers on here, and asking if there is any helpful information anybody could possibly have to help me through the course. I understand it is more than likely not a very difficult course, I&#39;m just looking for pointers, tips, or anything really. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don&#39;t need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> CPT Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 12 Oct 2018 14:01:07 -0400 2018-10-12T14:01:07-04:00 Response by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 13 at 2018 5:16 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/asist-training?n=4042972&urlhash=4042972 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is a very easy course. Hands on. When I went through, it was a civilian attire training, and we did a lot of inter-personal interaction, because the final exercise requires you to be able to speak one on one with someone and be able to actually help them through a very dark place.<br />There isn&#39;t much you need to know other than it is a suicide prevention course that gives you the information you need to speak with any kind of person and do your best to keep them from taking their own life. Its a good quality course. WO1 Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 13 Oct 2018 17:16:03 -0400 2018-10-13T17:16:03-04:00 2018-10-12T13:46:12-04:00
