Having problems with branch and getting a assignment for some time now. I have been on station for 41 months . Most recent problem I emailed branch and was told Fort wainwright was available. I called them the next morning to ask to be put on assignment and was told nothing was available. What should I do? Call branch everyday and keep trying? Will this put me in a bad place with my branch manager?

Go to your S1 and ask for a printout of requesitions for your MOS and grade. It will show you what is available, it's the same list branch is looking at. They won't be able to tell something is not available if it is on your printout, you can give them the requesitions number and they can see what you see. I've done it Everytime I PCS, I have always chosen where I go.

Have you tried taking it up the chain? Have you asked the branch manager specifically about how to follow up? Have you informed them to give you "first available" and been put on a list?

I gave been reluctant to take it up the HRC chain in fear of burning bridges.I did reach out to my CSM for assistance today. I have asked how to follow up I get the genric answer of call back in a month or so. I also asked about being on standby and have gotten no response.
