If you don&#39;t want to risk missing formation, &quot;Move on Post&quot;. I loved living on post. 1st the housing is very nice with a lot of brand new housing that was just built. 2) living on post avoids the traffic that builds up at the gate, don’t get me wrong there’s still a little traffic for pt, work call, and COB. But not as much as sitting at the gate. 3) the housing community centers are great with pools, basketball courts, close to gyms, etc. SPC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 02 Jul 2018 13:23:11 -0400 2018-07-02T13:23:11-04:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 2 at 2018 1:55 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/at-fort-riley-is-it-better-to-live-on-post-or-off-post?n=3761252&urlhash=3761252 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I lived in Manhattan the 3 years I was there. It wasn&#39;t that bad of a drive except in the snow. I never once was late for formation either even after I had my daughter and dropped her off at a babysitter on post. Closer to and &quot;not on base housing&quot;. I lived in Manhattan and on base. The best answer in just my opinion is on base. You are closer to work, when it snows and it does you don&#39;t have to drive in it back home, assuming you live in Manhattan bnot junction City or Ogden. That road gets bad. Other then the drive. I enjoyed living in Manhattan alot.
