At what do you/did you excel in the military?

Inter-service support issues SPC Margaret Higgins. I became the subject matter expert when I realized there was no consolidated information source. I developed an unclassified information database that was used by HQDA in the budget process.
Later I was tapped to represent Army in the drafting of the DoD Executive Agent directive and after I left the military I drafted a response to Army Chief of Staff whitepaper and was asked to brief the VCSA for two hours on the subject. At the time I was dealing with diverticulitis and heavily medicated but the briefing went very well.

In my younger days....I excelled at being a smart-ass............hence why it took me so long to finally make SGT.

I excelled teaching other Corpsmen, and Marines, getting myself, and others for advancement tests, maintaining the E.N.T. budget at NAVHOSPBREMWA, retesting over 6000 hearing tests for a major inspection.

If screwing up could be a primary MOS, I'd have it. If finding new ways of getting yourself out of those situations was a secondary MOS I'd have it too. But taking both of those and preventing my Soldiers from repeating them was the point where I realized I'd finally made it.

I think I have picked up some skills from the B-2, namely the stealth aspect because I generally excel at flying under the radar. I never get into trouble but never really get noticed for anything either. I'm just kind of here to work my shift and then gone. Kind of nice though, at least I don't have supervision breathing down my neck for things.
