<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There is no requirement rurn in your CAC until you are out. If you are not near a military installation then simply shred it or cut it to pieces. Just don't try to access anything if the expiration date is still active as you won't be.CSM Darieus ZaGaraFri, 17 Nov 2023 07:09:28 -05002023-11-17T07:09:28-05:00Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Nov 17 at 2023 9:05 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Keep it until it expires. I assume your ETS date is correctly listed on your card. Don't dispose of it before or even when you go on leave because on the rare instance where your leave is cancelled, changed or some other reason you have to go onto a base you will need that card. You won't be breaking any rules doing this but if you self dispose of it when you are on leave and you have to come in you will have some issues to navigate. There are card issue facilities everywhere and are extremely easy to find on the rapids website. Just turn in your card when it expires.SSgt Christophe MurphyFri, 17 Nov 2023 09:05:59 -05002023-11-17T09:05:59-05:00Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 19 at 2023 1:10 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just dealt with this last week. One of my Soldiers was getting out. On his last day he came to the unit and showed us his new transition ID card. It gives him access to some benefits after leaving the Army. We then took his card. All IDs are government property. I wouldn't have called him back if he left with it but we asked for it before he left.CPT Private RallyPoint MemberSun, 19 Nov 2023 01:10:40 -05002023-11-19T01:10:40-05:00Response by SSG William Bighouse made Nov 23 at 2023 5:25 PM
