At what point should we consider SERIOUSLY checking Chinese aggressions in the Pacific?

As we all know, Chinese "expansion" in the Pacific has led to issues with Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and others. Having studied military history and strategy, is this not a "backdoor" approach to the same Imperialist ideals which drove Japan during WWII? It is hard to imagine that even if all the other affected countries united against these Chinese aggressions they could actually curb this expansion effectively on their own.

None will take place as long as the current administration is in place in the WH, and will most likely continue if the successor comes from the same lineage (i.e. Biden, Clinton).
They are more willing to cow down and apologize for America when we have done nothing to have to be subservient to another country, one who is and has been a thorn in our sides even more over the last decade than any time in the history of the nation.
