1LT Private RallyPoint Member 324069 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I realize that there are other threads on this subject but after reviewing them they don&#39;t answer the question.<br /><br /> How long after my commissioning date do I have to attend Quarter-Master BOLC? I&#39;m in NH and it seems that this answer varies by state.<br /> When I was at the Federal OCS program I was educated that:<br /><br /> &quot;I would have to ATTEND BOLC within 18 months of commissioning&quot; Not completing but simply be in class &amp; starting BOLC within 18 months after commissioning.<br /><br /> Is this true? I would like to have a definitive answer on it as I&#39;m trying to balance Army values / commitments with my job. No one in my unit / state seems to have a concrete answer, everyone has a different perception of reality.<br /><br /> I&#39;ve also heard that there are &quot;waivers&quot; that one can use to extend or postpone going? <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would go as soon as you can. You cannot get promoted to 1LT without it nor get an evaluation. Go after the first slot and get ahead of your peers.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe that is true (especially if it is in your contract), but at the same time you don&#39;t really get to choose your class date - HRC assigns you to go. If you turn down a slot you may not get in within the 18 month requirement. I commissioned in April 09 and did not receive a class date until June 2010 and I was willing to go at any moment. I would have rather done it and got it over with sooner, but again you are at the mercy of HRC
