Gordon R. Sullivan, AUSA’s president and CEO. <br /><br />“He was among the finest leaders in our Army and in AUSA. At both the chapter and region levels, Ron Taylor was a tireless and effective advocate for America's Soldiers and their families. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all those he touched during his remarkable career."<br /><br />Fort Hood officials also expressed condolences.<br /><br />"Our thoughts and prayers are with Ron's family and loved ones today," said Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland, III Corps and Fort Hood commander. <br /><br />"Ron was always a good neighbor to Fort Hood in every sense of the word and a good friend to and supporter of our Soldiers and their families. He will be missed."<br /><br />Taylor received the organization’s Sergeant Major of the Army William G. Bainbridge Award, the top award for a retired noncommissioned officer, in 2012.<br /><br />“I really do love taking care of soldiers,” he said as he accepted it.<br /><br />He will be MISSED!
