Their experiences and backrounds were widely varied from an island hopping former Marine to a member of the Lithuanian resistance, a veteran of the Philippine Scouts, and a former officer who was part of Merrill's Marrauders of the Burma Campaign. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My last command was a Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion at Bangor, WA. We guarded nukes and nuclear subs. The Marines that I worked with always had a story to share with me, primarily from Iraqi and Afghani campaigns. <br /><br />One SGT took his 'back then' tales so seriously, that he treated junior marines and sailors like a total trash.<br /><br />Countless times did I witness him pulling a junior to a side not only ripping them up, but telling them how good they have it, that they never got shot, never slept in tents, faced sandstorms, burned excrements, etc... <br /><br />It was truly impressive watching hem express their fond memories of the Middle East
