You can recover.
Got caught masterminding a prostitution ring at Fort Hood? Probably harder to recover. How many "Did Not Meet Standard" did you get in comparison to "Met Standard?" It also depends on what your Senior Rater wrote/writes. At your level, you can recover from the bad NCOER(s) if you know what you did wrong and work on never doing that stuff again. You are a SGT and are expected to be groomed and developed as an NCO. Now when you hit SSG, that's when there isn't any room for error. Whatever you got on this Ncoer will not impact your career as an NCO and define you within your profession. Keep your head up and keep grinding. One question, can my senior rater make NCOER comments based on what happened in my previous unit, and I've never been counseled (other than verbal) for the incident.
