Quality not quantity right? Or is that just never going to happen?
Do you think the army should extend basic training length and AIT length? Adding training days adds to the cost, there has to be an ROI on that kind of spending. When I went through we had a 25 mile march. They got rid of that a long time ago but there are new challenges. We always look back and say how tough it was when we went through but everything changes in time.

Basic training is just covering the basics. For infantry you will be doing OSUT. So you will have Basic and AIT combined. But it will not teach you everything you need to know. You will learn that at your unit. There are so many different types of infantry units. You could go to anyone of them. A 11B in an airborne unit is completely different from a 11B in a mechanized unit. You can't learn everything in Basic or AIT. What you will learn is what you will need to be set up for success. CPT Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 23 May 2015 14:01:13 -0400 2015-05-23T14:01:13-04:00 2015-05-22T21:45:59-04:00
