How was your experience?
Did you completed?
Un what category?

I just completed Bataan death march yesterday, and let me tell you, it was no joke. Most of this March is up hill with the beautiful hot sun of New Mexico hitting you.

The Manchu Mile in Korea it is definitely a new experience on your feet. Korea has so many hills around the route where the Manchu mile is conducted that your body believes it walked so many miles until you see the markers along the road telling you which mile you are on. The best of all is that you get to look around and everyone in the Battalion is tired but proud of their accomplishment. You receive a certificate of completion and the coveted Manchu Belt buckle which you get to wear with your uniform. The unit I was in Hawaii 1-27 Wolfhounds did the Wolfhound 27 miler before I left. Every other BN thought we were crazy for doing this. This was the concept of the CSM which was a former Manchu. I have to tell you I was so proud of my Soldiers because we were the only platoon without any fall outs. This marches are not meant to break people but to make them better as teammates and Infantry Soldiers. This two ruck marches thought me a lot about myself but also how you as a leader can serve a great motivator to a Soldier that is not mentally strong. Good memories as the Manchus departed Korea for good this summer due to a unit realignment.
