BCT Regs on leave, have they changed?

When I was a BCT and went home for Christmas break, I was told I wasn't allowed to drive per regs.
Now my son is in BCT and home for Christmas break and said he was allowed to dive per his commander.

Has this rule changed or is Commander's discretion now?

Depends on the distance and if the Commander wants to assume that risk.

Ok, first off, to my knowledge there never has been a regulation on how to travel either to or from a location during leave. It is simply you are on leave from x date to x date, sign out to begin, sign in to end.

Anyone that says or claims different ask them to provide the regulation that they claim to reference.

Now, that said a commander can issue a directive.

Normally... it's you cannot drive home... I always snuck in a car on all my deployments... do you mean when you're home...?
