<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is there a such thing as if you're assigned to a MEDDAC assignment you are still subject to be deployed? I'm an OR Tech and I understand that there's CSH/FST units but being in a MEDDAC hospital I wasn't for sure if we stay and continue doing our job while CSH/FST handle deployment duties.Sun, 23 Feb 2014 15:01:27 -0500Being deployed in MEDDAC

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your best option is to go into AKO and check out your Army Career Tracker. Should provide a lot of insight into your job as you progress.SFC Private RallyPoint MemberSun, 23 Feb 2014 18:01:37 -05002014-02-23T18:01:37-05:00Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 18 at 2014 12:17 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This is an issue but I was stationed at MEDDAC back over 25 years ago and they continue on the mission. Being assigned to MEDDAC means you will stay on post when all others are deployed. You are doing to love this post. There's a lot to do there.1LT Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 18 Mar 2014 12:17:12 -04002014-03-18T12:17:12-04:00Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 20 at 2014 6:17 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Considering your MOS, and the fact that you are not a part of the hospitals CSH/FST, then I would be amazed if you somehow found a way to get deployed. Weirder things have happened, but I've never heard of a soldier in your situation getting sent anywhere.<br>SGT Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 20 Mar 2014 06:17:25 -04002014-03-20T06:17:25-04:00Response by SSG Genaro Negrete made Apr 5 at 2014 6:52 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The term is PROFIS (PROfessional FIller System). It allows units to get specialized soldiers for a deployment only (be they combat or humanitarian missions). A doctor, for example, would not normally be assigned to a battalion. if they deploy, the MD is brought over for the duration of the deployment. I've only seen it happen with medical providers. You could dig into AR 601-142 for the details. If you are interested, check out <a target="_blank" href="http://www.mods.army.mil/">http://www.mods.army.mil/</a>. Click on the volunteer icon on the left side of the screen. It allows MEDDAC soldiers to volunteer for deployments, pending the approval of their chain of command.<br><div class="pta-link-card"><br /><div class="pta-link-card-picture"><img src="http://www.mods.army.mil/analytics/piwik.php?idsite=1"></div><br /><div class="pta-link-card-content"><br /><div class="pta-link-card-title"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.mods.army.mil/.">MODS - Welcome to MODS Portal</a></div><br /><div class="pta-link-card-description"></div><br /></div><br /><div style="clear:both;"></div><br /><div class="pta-box-hide"></div><br /></div>SSG Genaro NegreteSat, 05 Apr 2014 18:52:43 -04002014-04-05T18:52:43-04:00Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made May 9 at 2015 12:06 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes there's always a possibility. Most likely you only deploy as a delta in meddac if you volunteer. Yes you continue doing whatever it is you're assigned to do in meddac as well.SPC Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 09 May 2015 12:06:57 -04002015-05-09T12:06:57-04:002014-02-23T15:01:27-05:00
