The program was highly intensive and very rewarding, plus it wasn't a horrible time commitment. Also, P90X provided a focus on diet/nutrition and core strengthening. This part is CRITICAL to preventing injuries. They also encourage "working at own pace", so you get stronger. At my strongest, I was able to do 75 sit ups and the walking in 28:30. I wasn't allowed to do the push ups/run on the APFT because of the nature of the injury, but I was able to outperform some of our runners without ever breaking into a running pace.

Most of the "Beachbody" workouts are great because they do focus on hard work over "easy solutions", and making sure that the journey is rewarding.
v/r,
CPT Butler Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 28 at 2015 10:05 PM 2015-02-28T22:05:46-05:00 2015-02-28T22:05:46-05:00 1SG Private RallyPoint Member 504148

P90X had worked for me, but it is time intensive. 1 to 1.25 hours daily (if you follow the complete program), not including shower and cleanup. I stopped doing it because I will either have to get up way earlier then I need to, or burn up my evening personal time doing it.

I find I get more out of running the 1.5 miles to the train, then stopping at the gym for a workout before work. At least the shower and hot tub are in the same place. It's also pretty easy to find as a download. Plus you can always look online for body weight exercises that require little to no equipment.
