Black or white socks? Which do you prefer and why?

I prefer Black Sox because Shoeless Joe Jackson played for them in Chicago in 1919.

Black socks don't fade, are authorized for multiple uniforms, and generally look better.

I think the black socks look better with the IPFU and my dark colored shoes. But the extra weight from the added pigment is really taking a toll on my run times.

I do not see the option for argyle! My preferred daily use sock pattern in civilian life.

Thanks to Jungle I wore white socks. but no one knew because I cut the Tops off a few pair of OD Socks and wore them over the top of my White socks. All anyone saw was OD Wool Socks.

I guess it would depend on whether I was wearing sandals.....I enjoy black socks with sandels and white socks with my boots....

White because I have worn them for 21 years (I am assuming you mean with PT's) but neither one helps me run faster so I really don't care.

I have to Wear Black at work in Uniform all other times white, Don't really care that much although I try to avoid synthetics the more synthetic the more likely I am to break out in a Rash.

I have always worn white socks when not dressed up or in uniform; however I am thinking of changing to black socks. I never really thought about why I wore white socks other than it's what I wore growing up.

Black socks are most useful when soaked, stuffed with bottled water and slung off the side of your tank to let evaporation give you a cool drink in the desert. Otherwise, I prefer to go sockless with sandals and a Sam Adams in hand.
