What are some good boot recommations for someone reclassifying to 68W? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/boot-recommations-for-68w <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m looking to reclass to 68W and I&#39;ve always worn the lighter Nike&#39;s. I&#39;ve never spent much time in the field or did anything rigorous, but now I&#39;m looking at the heavier Salomon Guardians. I&#39;m looking for recommendations. Thanks! I&#39;ve known medics that wouldn&#39;t touch anything but Danners. Me personally: If it&#39;s cold and/or I need amaze-balls ankle support, Rocky&#39;s, all day. If I&#39;m in garrison or a garrison like environment (think clinic rotation / sick call / company BS), Oakley&#39;s all day (and night). Soak them in water, then wear them till they dried. They form fitted to your foot, were a bitch to shine, but I never had a blister or sore foot from them, even on 20 + mile strolles in the boonies. Cost $ 8.50 each, and they could be resoled for $1.75. Then came the soft leather boot. Never fit right, and caused lots of blisters!! Don&#39;t really know about modern issue boots, but they are too expensive and probably don&#39;t wear well. Keep in mind this was all; back in the 60&#39;s, as a Marine 0311 ( infantry ). Another pair of boots I had that were absolutely amazing were the rather cheap Belleville&#39;s. They are very light weight and felt EXTREMELY therapeutic. Anytime I ever rolled my ankle and wore my Belleville&#39;s, I often had better mobility compared to the basic boots. Did a whole lotta rucking in them bad boys even on the bad days!
