I am in Delaware on PCS leave. I brought someone in to a local recruiters office because they want to join the Army. They were told that they werent taking single parents. They told him to lose custudy or get married. He didnt state why that was said. Are there any recruiters on RallyPoint that know the reason why they arent taking single parents?

My BCT Battle Buddy is a recruiter here in Delaware for the NG. She is a single mom. <div><br></div><div>That said, if your buddy is a resident of the state of Delaware I urge you to have him contact me before he takes another step. I live in Delaware and drill in Texas for a reason. Beau Biden is a great guy, but Family Court in Delaware is not where you want to be as a Soldier. </div><div><br></div><div>I will freely give of my time to help anyone that might be in your buddy's boat. Message me.</div>

SSG Graves,
Since you're on JBM-HH, stop by and see the The Old Guard's Recruiter, SFC(P) Milian...he can also assist you.

I havent made it to there because I am on PCS leave picking up my family. He also lives in Delaware so I am not sure if he can help someone out of state.

SSG Graves, Delaware is in my Brigade. I'm a recruiter in MA. Shoot me a message and I can give you my office number and hopefully give him an honest answer and set him up with some one in Delaware to take care of him. Let me know.

SSG Graves, I'm a recruiter and that answer is not completely true. It depends on if this person is looking to go active or reserve. If they are looking at USAR a waiver can be submitted. Waivers like this are really on a case by case basis. Sounds like to me the person they talked to does not want to do the work.

SSG McLaughlin is right. Sounds like they don't want to do the work. I dealt with a lot of recruiters that only wanted to process perfect applicants. Also as others have stated, recruiters can never advise anyone to give up custody. That's a good way to get an RI (Recruiting Impropriety). That doesn't stop the recruiter from reading the qualifications out of the reg to plant that seed in the applicant's head. At the same time a solid Family Care Plan can get someone in the reserves. Unfortunatley, I have seen nicely filled out and notarized FCPs turn out to be total BS when it comes time to send the soldier to training.
