According to officials, the Kirtland Air Force Base precautionary lock down was caused by a person popping industrial bubble wrap.

At 3:15 Wednesday afternoon, the base went on lock down on the west side of the base after receiving reports of an unconfirmed active shooter.

The lock down was lifted later that afternoon.

I live in ABQ and I saw this on the news the other day. Watching the reporter work really hard to keep a straight face made me glad that I went in the Navy. They put the word industrial in front of bubble wrap to make it sound cool. It is not. It was just bubble wrap.
