You are confusing San Francisco with Orange County. They have sanctuary cities here. So illegal aliens are not hassled. There is no way to deport 11 million people. But it is unfair to the people who immigrated legally. We just want our border secured. Mexico laws are very draconian. The first time if you are lucky you are deported. Bathe second time you go to jail.

They have got to be crazy..Maybe Californians who live in Beverly Hills or Hollyweird think that way but not those of us who had to deal with undocumented workers on a daily basis..

Undocumented were responsible for a lot of petty crimes when I lived in Mountain View CA from 1986 - 2013...They drove old clunkers without any drivers licenses or insurance & when they had an accident they would just run away...They broke into cars, houses, and businesses so they could have money for food.. They were also responsible for strong armed robberies in my neighborhood which was really out of control...and I blame that Sanctuary City BS for much of this crime..

I not only disagree but this comment about them enhancing CA & should be allowed to stay is something some bleeding heart liberals in San Francisco would say like Nancy Pelosi or Willy "Da Mayor" Brown....I think it is pure and unadulterated BS...

I disagree based on the fact that we are a nation of laws. If someone violates the law regardless of the reason, they are a criminal. Simple as that. If we turn a blind eye to one crime we need to turn a blind eye to all laws and descend into anarchy. I am not judging the quality of the illegal immigrants' character nor am I saying they are all violent criminals. The fact of the matter is if they want to come here they need to do it the right way. If they go through that process, I am all for welcoming them in.

Undocumented workers can enhance the state if they become legalized, either through immigration or green card, therefor creating tax payers. Then they will be beneficial to the US. That is really the only issue I have with undocumented workers. Pay taxes and you're solid.

I'm no fan of these "polls". Yeah they asked some people across party lines as if that would justify the article. But who they DIDN'T ask are the businesses large and small who benefit from the use of the cheap and often under the table paid labor these immigrants bring to them. They didn't ask because I bet money doesn't really care what party line you're affiliated with, it moves on it's own. IF it were possible to even get all 11 million illegals and deport them to their home country, the US would get slammed with the cost of rounding them up, housing them until they are deported, then we get tore apart from fuel costs. Now some people are happy until the costs of basic items begin to rise because now we're paying minimum wages to get someone to come do a half assed job of picking oranges, grapes, eggs, and milk. Big business and agriculture will raise hell that their profits are down, and to compensate they'll move that cost onto us. Then we'll start complaining. Congress will listen and have a million different investigations pointing fingers and take 10 years to come up with a solution that should've taken 3 months. Both parties have had 20 years and still can't get it together.
So to me, "rounding" them up and doing a full deportation isn't going to work. It doesn't seem feasible. But a method of getting them together in their local areas and telling them there IS a way you can stay personally, work legally, and through a verified and tested system maybe become a citizen within a certain number of years would maybe be a solution. Now they have a goal, we can verify their progress, and should they fail, ohh well sucks to be you, but thanks for playing. Criminals should not pass go. Get convicted of a felony? See Ya. Are convicted...case by case (have they reformed, did they do their time with no issues etc). Gang members...See ya. I cannot remember what candidate said it, but we should build a fence or some kind of barrier with Canada. If we secure the southern border, where do you think they'll try next? If we make immigration from Asia harder, where are they going to go before coming here? We need to secure both the top and bottom borders, and make it harder to have vacation babies that end up sucking the system as much as a baby born to an illegal possibly could. We need visa reform across the board. So many wants and needs to the common man, but we don't have enough money to get an audience with those who could make a difference and even then we'd get a pat on the back and some kinds of political "f*ck you) goodbye as they usher in Dole foods who makes massive donations to their coffers (I used Dole as an example, but they're not the only ones)

Sgt Kelli Mays many Californian's who respond to these types of polls seem to be in la-la land. I do not mean Los Angeles :-)
The state has continual budget problems, there are water problems primarily because on arcane arrangement of who has water priority across the state, and businesses and citizens having been leaving the state resulting in a net loss of Congressional seats.
Undocumented workers drain the states resources for emergency and other health aid and in some cases police and educational resources.
All effort should be made to encourage undocumented people to take the steps to become citizens of this nation or return to whence they came.

I agree with California. They should advertise to the illegal community around the United States to come there, The welcome mat is out. In fact, they should show pictures of all the dry areas and dried up lakes to remind them of home. Heck, if I could be assured it would be a one way ticket, I may even donate the cost of a bus ticket to CA. Hope California informs the illegals of all the state benefits they can get there. (with a little help, perhaps some federal aid)

amazed at the # of immigrants at our premier shopping centers; Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza are longer places to watch the high stepping OC blondes strut their stuff. Actually, the only high steppers I have seen this year were at Del Mar Race Track's opening day. Half the young girls in So CA were there with: high heels, low cut blouses, short skirts and gigantic sun hats!

In the meanwhile our freeways choke easily and we have a water drought. CA's greenies do not want to have dams for water storage nor desalinization plants for a new water source.

We have too many people and too many cars! I schedule my local travel around an estimate of cars on the roads at a given time.

This isn’t actually that surprising, one because California is typically rather liberal in its politics, and because in the United States nationally 65% of all people actually support a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. This 65% of all people actually includes 50% of all self-identified Republicans. In the end nobody’s going to do anything about it, Republicans will never allow Democrats to implement a pathway to citizenship, and the optics will never allow hardline Republicans to deport everybody.

IF I feel a a way about a law and I think it should be enforced....some would say that is crazy, we are a nation of laws. Follow the law. If I feel that we should have prostitution nation wide.... People would say that is crazy. It is not against the national/Fed law. It is legal in Nevada. That is not violating national law. So, why do people think they can dream or demand they want illegal immigration. FYI, my wife filled out the paperwork, paid a lot of money, and is an immigrant. As a human being and believer in Christ...all mankind are my "brothers". That said, being in a functional "family" should have expectations.
