Camp Casey or Camp Humphreys?

Hello, I am making a long story short, but I was suppose to go to Yongsan and it didn't happen. However; my Branch Manager has told me that I can go to either Camp Casey 2ID or 1st Signal BDE in Camp Humphreys. Here are the question that I have if someone can answer them for me.

1. How are the barracks for single soldiers? I will be doing a one year tour and I know some barracks you have to share a room and some you don't.

2. There is more for the signal soldiers ,but how is being a 25L in 2ID S6 vs 1st Signal BDE. I don't want to go to a signal company because there is no room for for growth. I always end up in the training room.

3. Which faculties are better and will they be shutting Camp Casey down soon. I know Camp Humphreys is being build up for the future but that doesn't mean it there yet. I heard Camp Humphreys has a better gym, but a gym is a gym to me. I am mostly just going to work out and do college course since I won't have my family with me to enjoy Korea.

I mean I haven't been since 2009 but when I was there I was in Stanley which is in the middle I like Casey better but Humphrey Is where everyone go

Which one did you end up choosing? Camp Humphreys has better, newer barracks. There's the Super Gym and a brand new entertainment facility at Humphreys, and a lot of construction is going on there because the elements at Yongsan are going to be relocated there.

I know it is a little late on this one but I got a few things for you. Keep in mind that this is all coming from an E6 25L that just came from 1st Signal BDE in Korea about 3 months ago.

First thing you need to know about 1st signal BDE is that your pinpoint orders do not mean anything. You will still go the Yongsan to inprocess and if the BDE decides they need you in another place besides humphreys they will just cut new orders. Please don't let that get to you. Sometimes that can save you and set you up for success.

Second if you get Camp Humphreys as a 25l and get in the right Company it can open up a whole world of training. You already know Huphreys is expanding. Guess who is running all the cable for the gigantic new base and all the new buildings. Cabledawgs thats who.

Last thing i will add is about your comment of going to a Signal compnay has no room to grow. I feel as though the only people who can't grow in any situation are not doing what they can. I spent time in operations, training room, schools NCO. I was even the HQ platoon Sergeant for a while. I excelled, learned things that other Soldiers never will. Its easy to set yourself apart in a unit where you are the only guy of that MOS. Nothing to compare you to, you are the SME and no one can tell if you know your stuff or are just good at BSing. Now go stand out when you are surrounded by those that do the same job.

Humphreys is nice though and is only getting better.

Quality of life? I'd take Humphreys. Work? Depends on what they are going to have you do.

Casey for sure. I think it is much large and a major city in the area.
